From our experience we have developed a unique approach in teaching these karate to kids, giving the child, focus, discipline and self achievement as well as valuable self defence techniques and improved levels of fitness and flexibility.
Many SAMA Karate Kids have shown dramatic changes in their lives, such as a higher
self-esteem and confidence which has contributed to better improvement with their school work and social skills.

Although adults are welcome to take part in any of our classes, we do offer specific adult, family and higher grade classes. All classes are based on the SAMA karate principles detailed above. While adult classes focus on teaching self defence and self discipline to adults with the addition of improving physical health and strength, reflexes and stamina.
The family class is a well rounded mixture of kids and adults Karate; teaching discipline, respect and self defence as well as health, fitness, agility and stamina.

Getting started is easy. Look on the
Classes page for a suitable class in your area. Come along wearing loose, comfortable clothes - t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms are ideal, bring a water bottle and be prepared to have fun. Spectators are always welcome too.
Each lesson starts with warm up exercises and stretching, then the Instructors will run through the various moves, blocks and techniques with the students. On each belt you are required to learn a new Kata - (pattern of moves). In lessons students will also get to practice their techniques on the focus mitts and kick shields. Each lesson ends with a little stamina - to progressively improve your health and fitness.
Gradings are conducted every 6 weeks and although not compulsory, most students enjoy the challenge of gaining their next belt. See
Gradings page for more details.
